Juliane discovered climbing by accident on her 10th birthday, which she was celebrating in a Dortmund sports hall, complete with climbing wall.

She has since become Germany's top bouldering specialist.

She hit the World cup circuit in 2006, and really specialised in bouldering as of 2010, when she picked up several World Cup podiums and a 2nd place in the European championships.

She has yet to stand on the highest step of an international podium, but don't write her off !
