Manuel Romain has been on the competition circuit for a number of years now. At 16, he is spotted by the national trainers and joins the French youth team. Then, still a junior at 19, he is picked for the French senior team. Who could forget the European championships at Bercy in 2008, where he is the only French lead climber to pick up a medal ? In 2011, this shy but efficient climber from the Hautes-Alpes, really emerged as the uncontested leader of the French lead team, with three podiums on the 2011 World Cup circuit. But don't be fooled, there's no big head on this mountain lover's shoulders. Manu and climbing have a simple relationship and it's not about to change. In fact his favourite climbing memory was the first time he climbed at Céuse « It doesn't get much better than that ». Since then Manu is « ever present », training, climbing, and making the most of life, with a pleasure that is as infinite as it is sincere !
